A week in Nottingham wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the Kitty Cafe for our cat obsessed young lady! We were staying just the other side of the castle so the cafe was only a short walk for us! You book in for your 1 hour slot to take a seat in the comfortable and spacious cafe & get your feline fill! There is a welfare charge of £5 per adult & £3 for children to keep the cats well looked after and the cafe beautifully clean. I would highly recommend booking as the cafe is usually fully booked – especially on weekends!

When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely young man who ran us through the rules to keep the cats safe & happy and were seated on our reserved table. The cats immediately wanted to get a good look at us – and were especially interested in taking a seat in Isla’s pram!

We ordered from the extensive menu – that even includes vegan & gluten free options. The cakes looked amazing – but unfortunately it wasn’t cheat day so we didn’t get the chance to try them!

The cats were all extremely relaxed and happy to play with the most excited little girl in Nottingham! I kept having to remind her not to run – she was so over the moon and couldn’t quite believe her eyes!

There are toys all around the cafe for you to play with the cats and Isla absolutely loved this! She made it her mission to give every cat a toy!

Our favourite cat was keeping them safe for us while we looked around!

Of course, Isla had to wear her cat jeans for the occasion! The whole experience was wonderful from start to finish – the staff were brilliant and so friendly. I was a little worried Isla would be too young but the cats were so calm and happy to be around her – I made sure to be right there every step of the way just incase she tried to stroke a little too hard – but she was a good girl and was always gentle! They have baby change facilities and high chairs which were both perfect & clean. We had more than enough room to leave our pram next to our table but on a busier day you might need to leave it at home if you can!

I would highly recommend adding this unique experience to your itinerary – it’s probably the first and only time Isla has been happy to sit in a coffee shop and I’m sure your little ones will love it too!
