There is no greater joy than seeing a theatre full of children shouting in delight. The Tiger Who Came To Tea delivered that time and time again – throughout the short show they had their mini audience enraptured by this magical story.
We took the whole family to support my brilliant friend and his cast as the show arrived at the Richmond Theatre for their final performances of the tour.
With ages ranging from 20 months – 5 years in our gang, all the children loved every second. From the moment Mummy, Daddy and Sophie burst onto the stage the children can’t take their eyes off the primary coloured set. The songs are catchy and sweet, making sure that any time their attention might be starting to drift the show is cleverly moved on and brings them right back in.
The arrival of the Tiger was absolutely brilliant – Isla screamed with delight and spent the rest of the show trying to get on stage to be as close to him as possible… little did she know the backstage tour of her dreams was arranged for after…
Isla even gave the tiger a ‘boop’ on the nose and refused to turn around for a picture – she was too busy tapping him on the shoulder, asking for more kisses!
It was wonderful to see all the cousins react differently to the show – Jack noticed all the clever set changes and was thoroughly impressed with the magic every time a plate of food disappeared into the Tiger’s belly! Jemima was sweetly laughing at all the silly jokes throughout (Daddy nearly went to work wearing a tea cosy!) and Isla and Ted just wanted to get down in the aisles and dance, clap and sing along to the sausages song!
If you follow us on Facebook you can see a video of Isla & her cousins meeting the Tiger & cast of this adorable show! We would highly recommend you taking your little ones to see the show the next time it goes out on tour – in the meantime why not check out Kids Week for some amazing theatre deals – tickets go on sale on June 13th at 10am so make sure you get in there quickly!
