Autumn is my favourite season for so many reasons – getting cozy in front of the fire, chunky knits and everything Halloween has to offer! Growing up in Texas meant my love for Halloween started young – not the spooky stuff, just the super cute – carving a pumpkin and dressing up as your favourite Disney character stuff! This year it’s been so fun to introduce Isla to a few Halloween traditions – starting with picking her very own Pumpkin!
We headed over to The Pop Up Farm just off Junction 9 of the M1 for a morning searching for the perfect Pumpkin!
Parking was muddy but no problem really – definitely wear your Wellies! When you arrive there are a few areas for kids to play. Isla enjoyed making a mess with Daddy while I queued up for our wheelbarrow. It was only a 5 minute wait before we were off in the field!
We went with our lovely friends Vanessa & Morgan – he’s already been well trained to find the most Insta-worthy pumpkin of them all!
It was all closed in and safe enough for Isla & Morgan to roam free – and while it felt busy at the entrance it didn’t feel that way out on the pumpkin patch.
‘I’ll take all of these Mum!’
Doesn’t he just have the cheekiest little face?!
Vanessa & I were joking that this was a mini Engagement shoot but I think Barney might have something to say about that! He still hasn’t asked him about his intentions! Haha!
‘That way Daddy!!’
We had such a lovely morning exploring and discovering new things! Now we’ll just have to see what she makes of all that pumpkin gunk!!
There were toilets and a small range of drinks on offer but I would say it’s not enough for a whole day out; but it’s certainly a lovely hour or so! More information is available here.
What Halloween activities have you been up to with your little ones? I can’t wait to see all their brilliant costumes!
